Usually workable sensations

- Sweeping stiffness after sitting—loosens with warm-up.
- Breathlessness that settles quickly when pace drops.
Pause-and-check signals
- Sharp catches or joints locking unexpectedly.
- Numbness, tingling, dizziness during exertion.
- Pain that worsens night after night.
- Visible deformity or sudden swelling.
Effort dial
RPE scales (effort 1–10) help beginners stay honest—most easy days live near 4–5; occasional pushes edge higher when programming allows.
